New York City will continue to work its fascination on photographers and photography fans alike, as proven my Michael Donovan’s awesome street set. Donovan takes candid pictures of a city which he must love and abhor equally. He doesn’t shy away from its dirty streets, its bustling, busy streets, filled with taxi cabs, its graffiti and its homeless bums. At the same time, he also produces beautifully delicate privately commissioned portraits in black and white, which abound in sensuality. There is quite the discrepancy between one style of photos and the other, which is probably what prompted Donovan to explain in the FAQ section of his blog that he did, indeed, shoot “all these photos. This is a combination of my snapshots, personal and professional work.”
